Making Disciples at Every High School

Taylor with staff member Stevie at Aiea High School club

Each person has the ability to make a big difference in other people’s lives. Taylor, a Junior from Aiea High School, made a big difference in her friends’ lives at the YFC club. We are on campus at Aiea High School every Wednesday at lunch, and we bring food for the students who attend. We have roughly 15-20 students who show up and play a game and hear a message about Jesus. We have many students who wander into the club classroom but don’t participate in the activities.

Our staff would ask these students each week if they wanted food and to play the game. They always declined. Until one day, Taylor agreed to play and her friends followed her lead. It was a bold step to play a game and step into a potentially uncomfortable situation. Taylor, who knows nothing about Jesus or YFC, launched all four of them in a direction to learn about Him. Now they come each week to eat and participate! During our last meeting of the school year, they said they can’t wait to come back and help spread the “good word” next year.
