YFC is raising up 100 students to serve as ‘Campus Gatekeepers’
Kalvin is the Kalaheo YFC Campus Life Club’s next president. Read his story below.
“I am 17 and I can say with confidence that Jesus changed me. Jesus removed all the hate, all the sadness and pain. All my life I hated my adoptive father, but getting to know Jesus’ love has given me an understanding of my adoptive father’s love for me. I was called by God to serve him. Before I moved to Hawaii, I never saw kids on fire for God. I believe God has called me to preach the Gospel to every soul.
My entire biological family believes in Buddha. When my biological father passed away and my brother Sam died, I was crushed. I hated that I was not there to share the love of Jesus with them before they died. This drives me because I care about people and it hurts me to see people die, not knowing where they will spend eternity. God changed me, and I believe it is now my calling to save my family too.
Jesus’ blood can heal anything. He healed me from drugs, sexuality, and hate. I meet weekly with Kai Klein, one of the YFC campus directors. We talk about life and the Bible. In my freshman year, I avoided Kai on campus because I was angry about my parents’ divorce and being adopted. After becoming a believer, I felt God calling me to become a leader at the YFC Club. This year, I will help lead the YFC club at my school and share the Gospel with more students. Thank you for helping me through life and empowering me to reach my campus for Jesus.”
